Why Females Stop Their Education Just after Completing Their Matriculation (A Study of Union Council Kathala)

Abstract
There is a close link between education and development. Education plays an important role in the socioeconomic development of any country. Discontinuation of education at females’ side is a problem that has a serious concern with the progress and prosperity of the country. This study presents the result of a recent investigation that attempted to identify those factors which affected the females’ continuation in education considering a case of Union Council Kathala Distt. Gujrat. Data were collected directly from the field by using the questionnaire. A time based cluster sampling was used for the of sample and collection of information. Path Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) were performed to test the relationship among the factors represented by the actual data from 110 respondents of the Union Council Kathala. Finding indicates that the factors “Traditions” and “Poverty” directly affect the “Females’ Continuation in Education” whereas the factor “Insecurity Problems” indirectly affects the “Females’ Continuation in Education” through the factor “Area Problems”.
